Growing up has its challenges, and they have an impact on children. When children are still learning to understand how they are feeling and how to manage their emotions, it can be hard as a parent to know how to best support them. Children often communicate through their actions and come to therapy because they’re struggling in school, having difficulty building or maintaining friendships, or exhibiting troubling behaviors. At Mindful BK, we work with children to help them make sense of what is going on in their minds, bodies, and lives – in age-appropriate language that they can understand. We’ll work with your child to notice, understand, and manage their feelings. Utilizing talk therapy, play, and mindfulness, we support children to express themselves, develop coping mechanisms, and change how they relate to their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations.
